Hannah Hussey joined Children’s Law Center in 2022 as an Appellate Staff Attorney. She previously served as a legal fellow at the New York Legal Assistance Group’s LGBTQ Law Project, where she assisted youth and young adults in navigating immigration cases, public benefits issues, name changes and other civil matters. In law school, Hannah worked as a clinic student to support transgender youth and their families; represent undocumented Connecticut residents in immigration and employment cases; and partner with a New Haven-based harm reduction organization. Prior to becoming a lawyer, she advocated for LGBTQ youth in Massachusetts and at the federal level in Washington, D.C. Hannah has published articles and reports on LGBTQ issues in child welfare, homelessness, juvenile justice and immigration.
