Maggie Schmidt
Maggie Schmidt is a Supervising Attorney in the Healthy Together Program, supervising staff attorneys representing parents in education, housing conditions, access to health care and public benefits cases. Prior to joining CLC in 2022, Maggie worked as a staff attorney at the Network for Victim Recovery of DC, the Victim Rights Law Center in Massachusetts and Maryland Legal Aid out of Prince George’s County. She has represented children and adults in various civil legal matters including education matters, civil protection orders, privacy and child welfare matters with a focus on survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, abuse and neglect. While in law and graduate school Maggie worked as an intern at organizations including Have Justice—Will Travel in Vermont; the New Hampshire Institute for Health Policy, and Practice; and the Office on Violence Against Women at the Department of Justice. She passionately seeks to incorporate her public health background into her legal service to enhance all her clients’ outcomes and train other lawyers to do the same.
