Michelle is a Staff Attorney in the Guardian ad Litem Program where she represents children in abuse and neglect proceedings in the District of Columbia. Prior to joining the Children’s Law Center in 2019, Michelle worked for the Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services, providing legal support on child welfare issues and serving as the agency’s Policy Director. As a law student, Michelle participated in the University of Mississippi School of Law’s Housing Clinic where she represented clients in landlord-tenant disputes, and the Mississippi Innocence Project, representing incarcerated clients with claims of innocence. During law school, Michelle interned with the Harrison County Mississippi Youth Court, Mississippi Center for Justice, and the Appalachian Research and Defense Fund of Kentucky.
