2022-23 Oversight Testimony: Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection

Children’s Law Center Policy Attorney Makenna Osborn testified before the DC Council’s Committee on Public Works and Operations about the Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection, calling on the agency to enforce a law requiring corporate landlords to disclose the real people who own residential properties. Without accurate disclosures, it is nearly impossible to identify and hold accountable slumlords who are responsible for hazardous conditions in homes across the city.
