Because of staffing capacity, our intake line will be closed from 2pm on Friday, May 22nd to 9am on Monday, June 15th.  We will not be answering calls or responding to online intake forms. You will not be able to leave voicemails or fill out an online form until June 15th.

If you have a housing conditions emergency prior to that, you can reach out to:

  • Call 311 for City Services
  • The Department of Buildings (DOB) at 202-671-3500 or DC Department of Buildings.
    • Don’t have air conditioning? DC renters have a right to AC if their landlord provides it in the lease. AC should cool to below 78 degrees or at least 15 degrees cooler than the outside temperature (whichever is cooler). You can contact the OAG Consumer Mediation hotline or the Department of Buildings for assistance.
