FY24 Budget Testimony: DC Health

Children’s Law Center Policy Attorney Leah Castelaz testified before the DC Council Committee on Health at the DC Health budget hearing. In particular, she noted the important ways that DC Health’s programs and services impact the health and well-being of DC children and urged the Council to ensure the District’s FY24 budget includes an additional $1.2 million to increase funding for home visiting to supplement wages and sustain the current workforce, and at least one FTE for the Board of Social Work to increase their capacity to administer licenses.
