The Washington Post: Editorial Calls for Children’s Mental Health Reform
An editorial in The Washington Post echoes Children’s Law Center’s children’s mental health report card – hailing DC’s success in laying a foundation for action, but highlighting the progress that is still needed.
Calling Children’s Law Center “a leading advocacy group,” the editorial pointed out that lack of quality mental health care will cause other reform efforts to fail. The District has laid a foundation for action and started some programs, but timelieness and quality of treatment is still an issue. “It’s important that the District raise the grade on getting these children the help they require,” the piece concludes.
