Testimony: Advancing Year Round Access to Shelter Policy and Prevention of Homelessness Amendment Act of 2015
Executive Director Judith Sandalow testified before the DC Council Committee of the Whole regarding the Mayor’s proposed bill, which changes District laws about shelter facilities the Mayor can build, as well as how to determine a family’s eligibility for shelter. In her testimony, she focuses on shelter design and asks the Council to work together with the Mayor to ensure that the design for new shelters addresses trauma-specific needs of homeless families.
