Comment: Chapter 30 Special Education Regulations
Each day a child misses the opportunity to engage in Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) is a missed opportunity for learning and development that they may never get back. Children’s Law Center sees this in the work we do with thousands of students who receive special education services.
Because of our experience, we have consistently provided suggestions to the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) as they rework the Chapter 30 regulations for Special Education in order to strengthen protections for students.
Policy attorney Danielle Robinette commented on the revised regulations with a focus on ensuring students not only receive the highest quality FAPE, but that FAPE is made available with as little delay as possible.
