The Chicago Bureau: Children’s Mental Health Plan Informs Story on ‘National Dilemma’
Children’s Law Center recent plan on children’s mental health informed a new article on struggles to provide mental health care to youth nationwide. Rebecca Brink, a senior policy attorney who authored the plan, is quoted. She emphasized mental health services as a preventive tool. “Kids who are getting in trouble with the law, kids who are not in preschool, families who are involved with untreated substance abuse and untreated mental health issues,” Brink told reporter Joyce Lee, a student at Medill School of Journalism. “That could’ve been averted earlier.”
