The Washington Times: More than a third of D.C. landlords still can’t collect rent, survey finds
Sean Salai of The Washington Times reports on recent data released by the Small Multifamily Owners Association citing that more than a third of D.C. landlords have rental delinquencies exceeding two years.
The story covers a recent DC Council hearing where Children’s Law Center housing policy attorney Makenna Osborn explained that there are roughly 60,000 extremely low-income renter households at risk of homelessness citywide. She spoke at the hearing to endorse an amendment to strengthen affordable housing subsidies and protections against harmful evictions.
