Washington Business Journal: AmeriHealth market president on a vision for equitable health
Karen Dale, Market President of AmeriHealth Carita District of Columbia talks about their role in the District’s Medicaid program and the importance of whole-person, community-oriented care. She goes on to explain the different resources available to enrollees, which include a collaboration with Children’s Law Center.
At AmeriHealth Caritas DC, we are proud to partner with nearly 20 local organizations to bridge gaps and create comprehensive support systems for our enrollees. Our work with organizations like Children’s Law Center, Food & Friends and Ounce of Care helps expand our reach and ability to address social and health related risks so that we may drive innovation and build a robust, and responsive system.
“Children’s Law Center has worked closely with AmeriHealth Caritas DC for several years. They are collaborative, strategic and open to feedback and partnership. We are particularly impressed with their strong commitment to addressing social determinants of health and meeting the mental health challenges of DC children.” said Judith Sandalow, executive director, Children’s Law Center
With concerted effort and thoughtful collaboration, this vision can become a reality — a city where health equity isn’t just an aspiration, but the standard. We call on readers to play a part in taking action to drive lasting, positive change for the health and well-being of D.C. residents.
