Washington Post: District extends reach of mental health services for children, report says
The Washington Post writes about findings in Children’s Law Center’s 2015 Children’s Mental Health Report Card. The Post highlights improvements the District has made in the past year, which allowed them to reach 3,000 more children than ever before.
Executive director Judith Sandalow is quoted in the article:
“We’re delighted that more kids are getting treatment, but we’re very worried about the quality of that treatment,” said Judith Sandalow, the law center’s executive director. “It’s too fragmented to be fully effective; we know that more kids are getting some services, but we also know that kids are waiting too long to get the services, and the quality is uneven at best.”
