The Washington Post: Forgotten-child incident in D.C. highlights special-ed busing concerns

In a Washington Post story giving a wider context for an incident where a 4-year-old special education student was forgotten on a school bus, reporter Emma Brown includes a quote from Judith Sandalow. Coming shortly before the end of federal oversight of the District’s special education transportation program and the closing of a long-running class action lawsuit, the incident highlights the importance of a well-run system. 

Sandalow told the Post that responsibility for oversight of special education transportation now has to shift. “The DC Council and the public need to ‘pay attention now that the court isn’t'” doing so.
