The Washington Post’s Capital Business: Pro Bono “Impact Project”
Capital Business reporter Catherine Ho features a new pro bono initiative, “Impact Project,” which brings in lawyers from Skadden Arps, LivingSocial, Northrup Grumman and Cisco Systems to provide representation in pro bono cases for clients of Children’s Law Center, Legal Aid Society and Bread for the City. The lawyers working with Children’s Law Center will be custody guardians ad litem, representing the best interests of children involved in complex custody matters. The cases for the other legal services providers will focus on domestic violence and housing issues. “The whole effort is about bringing critical mass to these big problems,” said Cliff Sloan, the Skadden partner who is coordinating the project.
