Brian V. Breheny, Secretary

Brian Breheny is a partner in Skadden’s DC office and heads the firm’s SEC Reporting and Compliance practice. Prior to joining Skadden in 2010, Mr. Breheny held a number of leadership positions in the Division of Corporation Finance at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, eventually becoming its deputy director of legal and regulatory policy. Brian received his undergraduate degree from St. John’s University and his JD cum laude from St. John’s University School of Law.

He joined the Children’s Law Center Board of Directors in 2019. Additionally, he serves as a member of the board of directors of the Society for Corporate Governance and the SEC Alumni Association and is a member of the DC leadership committee for Lambda Legal and UCLA Law School’s Williams Institute. He formerly served as a member of the board and treasurer of The National LGBT Bar Association and a member and chair of the board of Fair Chance, a DC-based organization that works to strengthen community-based nonprofits serving children and families experiencing poverty. Brian enjoys spending time with his family, including twins and Joey, a loveable yellow Labrador.
