Evey Vernet
Evey Vernet is a Staff Attorney for the Guardian ad Litem program, advocating for children’s best interest in abuse and neglect cases. Before joining Children’s Law Center, Evey worked as a Staff Attorney at Maryland Legal Aid in Prince George’s County where she represented clients in consumer disputes and assisted clients in accessing critical income supports such as unemployment, food stamps, social security income, and other vital public benefits. Evey also represented disabled individuals at risk of losing their community-based services and nursing home residents facing involuntary discharge. While in law school, Evey interned at the following offices in Miami, Florida: Office of Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel, Miami-Dade Office of the Public Defender, Department of Children & Families Children’s Legal Services. She is a proud U.S. Army veteran and speaks Haitian-Creole.
