Mackenzie Becker

Mackenzie Becker has been a staff attorney in the Guardian ad Litem Program since 2017. She spent her first two years at Children’s Law Center as an Equal Justice Works Fellow working to create a model for culturally competent legal representation for LGBTQ foster youth by directly representing youth, engaging in coalition building and outreach, and training stakeholders. As a law student, Mackenzie interned with Children’s Law Center, the Legal Aid Society of DC, and the Alliance for Justice. She also taught constitutional law to DC public high school students through the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project and earned a certificate in family law. As an undergraduate, she earned a minor in LGBT & Sexuality Studies and completed multiple internships with the Institute for Women’s Policy Research, the White House, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia.
