Megan Hess
Megan Hess joined Children’s Law Center in 2026 as a Skadden Fellow with the Healthy Together medical-legal partnership. Megan helps children and families secure public benefits and health care coverage and advocates for families facing barriers to accessing the resources they need to thrive. During law school, Megan worked with the ACLU Women’s Rights Project and the ACLU of Southern California on litigation and advocacy involving disability rights, gender justice, pregnancy discrimination and the rights of low-income families. She also represented clients through the University of Michigan Law School’s Civil-Criminal Litigation Clinic, Human Trafficking Clinic and Pediatric Advocacy Clinic. Megan served as Senior Executive Editor of the Michigan Journal of Gender & Law and conducted research on disability rights. Prior to law school, Megan worked as an EMT, where she gained firsthand experience with the ways health and access to resources can shape the well-being of individuals and families.
