Patrick Cothern

Patrick Cothern is a policy attorney at Children’s Law Center. He works with advocacy partners and the DC local government to promote healthy housing for DC families. Before joining Children’s Law Center, Patrick worked within the DC local government and later the federal government; variously advising his client agencies on fair housing and accessibility law and the implementation of housing programs. He has also published a law review article examining barriers workers within innovative industries face in accessing homeownership. In law school, Patrick received an award for commitment to public service, and was a member of the Student’s Representation Project, an interdisciplinary group of law, social work, and education students that represented children in adversarial proceedings brought against a student by the school or school district.
