Toni Howell

Toni Howell is a Social Worker at Children’s Law Center, where they provide clinical insight to support attorneys advocating for children and families. They have experience in assessment, trauma-informed care, and crisis intervention, with a background in both direct services and macro-level work. Prior to joining Children’s Law Center, Toni worked as an In-Home Therapeutic Coach with Easterseals PORT Health, supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and behavioral health needs, and as a Research Assistant at UNC’s Department of Psychiatry, assisting individuals with first-episode psychosis. They also contributed to trauma-informed training initiatives through their work with the National Initiative for Trauma Education and Workforce Development and gained experience with Medical-Legal Partnerships at Duke University’s Children’s Law Clinic. Outside of work, Toni enjoys rock climbing, hiking, reading, and spending time with family (dogs included).
