Veena Subramanian
Veena Subramanian is a staff attorney with the Guardian ad Litem program. Prior to joining CLC in 2021, Veena was an Equal Justice Works Fellow at Open City Advocates, where she represented youth who were committed to the District’s Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services. Her fellowship focused on crossover youth, or youth with histories of involvement in the juvenile legal and foster systems. As a law student, Veena participated in the Reentry Clinic at the New Haven Legal Assistance Association to represent individuals facing barriers in guardianship, employment, and housing matters due to contact with the criminal legal system. Before law school, Veena worked as a case planner in the foster care system in New York City.
