2024-25 Oversight Testimony: Child and Family Services Agency

Children’s Law Center Policy Director Tami Weerasingha-Cote testified before the DC Council’s Committee on Youth Affairs regarding the Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA). Our testimony commends CFSA for their investments in prevention strategies and their partnership focus. It also identifies areas where the agency must improve its performance to ensure it meets the needs of children in care, including continuing to expand its placement array, improving supports for youth aging out of care, and complying with the requirements of the POKETT Act.
