FY22 Oversight Testimony: Department of Human Services
Children’s Law Center Senior Supervising Attorney Kathy Zeisel testified before the DC Council’s Committee on Human Services about the Department of Human Services (DHS), asking the Committee and DHS to think more broadly about the purpose and outcomes of the Rapid Rehousing program and permanent housing options. We strongly urge the Committee and larger Council to invest in housing programs that actually work to reduce housing insecurity, as well as modifying the Rapid Rehousing program, funding the Eviction Rental Assistance Program and changing the Alliance recertification process to be more effective.
