FY23 Budget Testimony: Education Agencies
Children’s Law Center Policy Director Sharra E. Greer testified before the DC Council’s Committee of the Whole on the FY23 budget of DC education agencies, including DCPS, DME and OSSE. Sharra urged the Committee and Council to ensure that the District’s education budget invests in both pandemic-related losses and students’ future needs. In particular, the budget should prioritize schools’ abilities to meet the needs of students with disabilities and students with behavioral health issues.
