2022-23 Oversight Testimony: Department of Health Care Finance

Children’s Law Center A Path Forward Project Lead Amber M. Rieke and Policy Attorney Leah Castelaz testified before the DC Council Committee on Health and the Committee on Hospitals and Health Equity about the Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF).

Leah commended DHCF for their commitment to advancing positive maternal health outcomes and support for the Perinatal Mental Health Task Force.

Amber emphasized the importance of long-term, sustainable financing for early childhood supports like HealthySteps and noted the gaps that still exist as DHCF works to integrate behavioral health into Medicaid managed care.
