2022-23 Oversight Testimony: Office of the Ombudsperson for Children

Children’s Law Center Policy Director Sharra E. Greer testified before the DC Council’s Committee on Facilities and Family Services about the Office of the Ombudsperson for Children, thanking the Council for establishing this Office and commending Ombudsperson Shalonda Cawthon’s diligent work building a strong foundation for the Office. Sharra spoke about the Office’s work in transparency and accountability, and its critical role in identifying systemic issues facing youth involved with both the child welfare system and the juvenile justice system.
