FY25 Budget Testimony: Department of Human Services
Children’s Law Center Policy Attorney Makenna Osborn testified at the Committee on Housing budget oversight hearing for the Department of Human Services (DHS).
Our testimony identifies the level of funding the Council should ensure is included for homelessness prevention programs in the DHS budget to meet the needs of District families in FY25. We also emphasize why the Council should prioritize investments in long-term housing vouchers like TAH and PSH over the time-limited Rapid Re-Housing Program that is more costly and less effective.
