FY21 Oversight Testimony: DHCF
Children’s Law Center Policy Director Sharra E. Greer testified today before the DC Council’s Committee on Health regarding the performance of the DC’s Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF). DHCF is the Medicaid agency for the District and is planning to implement significant changes to DC’s Medicaid program. In DC, more than one in three children is covered by Medicaid, and nearly all of our clients are Medicaid beneficiaries. We believe these changes are an opportunity to prioritize the needs of DC’s children and families. That’s why Sharra urged DHCF and the Committee to ensure smooth transitions between plans, improve interagency coordination and seek opportunities to strengthen the District’s behavioral healthcare system.
