Public Comment: Section 1115 Waiver Renewal Application

The Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF) renewal application aims to extend the District’s Behavioral Health Transformation Section 1115 Demonstration activities to “Whole-Person Care Transformation” to improve health outcomes and decrease health disparities through new Health Related Social Needs (HRSN) benefits. A whole-person approach to care offers the opportunity to break down silos between services and strengthen care coordination for vulnerable populations. Through our own work with District children and families, we are acutely aware of the need for integrating and addressing social needs within healthcare settings. We therefore submitted written comment to DHCF on their renewal application.
