FY17 Budget Testimony: Child & Family Services Agency
Senior Policy Attorney Damon King testified before the DC Council’s Committee on Health and Human Services regarding the Mayor’s proposed FY2017 budget for the District’s Child and Family Services Agency (CFSA). In his testimony, Damon warns against putting off addressing a number of critical issues raised during CFSA’s FY15 Performance Oversight hearing until a more forgiving budget year.
CFSA’s budget briefing and stakeholder meetings highlighted cuts to the Agency’s budget. In terms of the budget, however, Damon expressed concern regarding CFSA Director Davidson’s plan to address these priorities and that the budget may actually fall short of what the agency, and the children who depend on it, actually need.
