Testimony: COW Roundtable on Attendance, Chronic Absenteeism and Truancy

Children’s Law Center Policy Attorney Danielle Robinette testified before the DC Council’s Committee of the Whole at a roundtable on school attendance, chronic absenteeism and truancy. Every day, we work with children and families who face barriers to regular school attendance, and we urge the DC Council and education sector to continue moving away from punitive responses to absenteeism and instead focus efforts on supporting students and families.
