Testimony: DC Department of the Environment 2014 Oversight Hearing
Children’s Law Center Senior Supervising Attorney Kathy Zeisel testified today at the oversight hearing for the DC Department of Environment (DDOE) to praise the work of the Healthy Homes program during the past year and ask for expanded protections for DC residents against the substantial presence of mold.
CLC believes DDOE should manage the increase in mold protections within the Healthy Homes program because of its public health approach and because the agency has the in-house expertise to inspect for mold, to regulate inspectors and remediators and to ensure appropriate removal of mold.
