Testimony: Department of Behavioral Health Oversight (FY15)
On February 13, 2015, Rebecca Brink, a senior policy attorney at Children’s Law Center, testified at the Department of Behavioral Health performance oversight hearing.
Ms. Brink highlighted the need for the Department of Behavioral Health to embrace its role as the district-wide mental health authority, and be the force that drives change to improve service delivery to all children. She advocated the need for wide-reaching and timely improvement in the quality of services available. In addition, she also testified that good programs, like the evidence-based practices already implemented, are currently underutilized and the Department must expand and connect more children to existing programs that work.
