FY15 Budget Testimony: Department of Health Care Finance

Children’s Law Center testified at an April 29 budget oversight hearing regarding the Mayor’s FY15 budget for the DC Department of Healthcare Finance. More information about the hearing is available on the Council website.

Executive Director Judith Sandalow testified to support the proposed FY15 budget for the Department of Healthcare Finance, which has been increased by six percent, demonstrating the District’s continued commitment to public insurance for our neediest residents. We noted our strong support of the Department’s initiative to improve the integration of children’s health to detect developmental, behavioral and oral health issues early and ensure children receive proper care; and to ensure that pediatricians are trained and reimbursed to properly screen children for these issues.
