FY15 Budget Testimony: Department of Human Services

Children’s Law Center testified at an April 30, 2014 budget hearing regarding the Mayor’s FY15 budget for the DC Department of Human Services (DHS). More information about the hearing is available on the Council website.

Executive Director Judith Sandalow testified about the traumatic effects homelessness has on children, and criticized the DHS FY15 budget for not having a clear plan to address the urgent and complex housing crisis, especially for children. The other area of focus in the testimony was on the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families Program, a vital program for vulnerable families in the District.
