Testimony: Metropolitan Police Department Oversight (FY16)

Senior Policy Attorney Kimberly Waller testified before the DC Council’s Committee on the Judiciary regarding the Metropolitan Police Department’s (MPD) FY 2015 performance. In her testimony, she focused on MPD’s interaction with youth who are, or at risk of being, victims of commercial sexual exploitation. The commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC) is a devastating form of sex trafficking impacting many youth. In particular, Kimberly discussed the implementation of the Sex Trafficking of Children Prevention Amendment Act of 2014, which passed on November 18, 2014.
