Children’s Law Center policy analyst Danielle Robinette testified before the DC Council’s The Committee on the Judiciary & Public Safety to share our support for expanded protections for schoolchildren and to consider alternatives to the child detention provision.
To better support the behavioral health needs of youth in the juvenile justice system, Robinette highlights various recommendations brought up in A Path Forward. This extensive report makes dozens of “recommendations for transforming DC’s public behavioral health system for children into a system that provides appropriate, equitable, and high-quality behavioral health services throughout the continuum of care for children in DC.”
