Comment: Community Support Second Notice of Proposed Rulemaking
Children’s Law Center submitted public comments on the Second Noticed of Proposed Rulemaking for Community Support services authorization criteria. Our comment urges DBH to revise the proposed Community Support authorization criteria to avoid restricting access to essential services for children and youth. We recommend targeted revisions to ensure that criteria reflect developmental differences, permit appropriate clinical judgment, and do not create service gaps that undermine stability, safety, and treatment continuity.
Learn about Our Behavioral Health Work
Although tens of thousands of DC children have behavioral health needs, only a fraction of them actually receive timely supports and services. At Children’s Law Center, we know that many of the children we work with – including children in the foster care system or receiving special education services – only need our help because their needs have gone unaddressed.
